Very impressive exhibition, informative, very well documented, a parade of wonderful pictures. Also interesting is the comparison with the “official” painters of the time, who were selected by the jury – in contrast to the Impressionists. The “official” painters were technically good – very good, but conventional; today most of them are forgotten, in contrast to the Impressionists.
